Microsoft Office 365 …looking ahead in 2017

Microsoft have already kicked-off 2017 by further expanding the features incorporated in Microsoft Office 365, with the introduction of StaffHub. A new application dedicated to people working within a shift based environment, it’s designed to move many current offline processes online, and is aimed at people who don’t work from a set desktop PC, and/or have varying schedules from day-to-day which is often the case in the hospitality sector for example.

Beyond the innovative StaffHub application, in 2017 Microsoft have planned a line of new features and enhancements which will surely keep Office 365 as the go-to suite of applications for most businesses large and small.

Looking ahead into the year, standing out for users is perhaps the rollout of real-time transcription and translation in Skype Meeting Broadcast, providing live closed-captions for presentations spoken in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and German with more to follow.

OneDrive for Business has been evolving rapidly over the previous year or two, and 2017 sees the roll-out of the new OneDrive for Business admin centre, making new features available for IT administrators and users, allowing simpler management of your OneDrive.

Finally we also look forward to the roll-out of the new service health dashboard, providing administrators with new reporting on service health which can be personalised for their particular business or organisation.
