New Office 365 Toolbar for macOS

Microsoft have this week launched the new My Workspace Office 365 toolbar on macOS, allowing Apple users fast access to Office 365 apps, files and other information from the macOS menu bar.

Named My Workspace, the toolbar was created as an experimental project by a Microsoft Garage team based in Vancouver, and is believed to be the first ever Microsoft Garage project built for the Apple Mac.

Primarily the toolbar will be used by Apple users to easily launch Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote. The toolbar also includes calendar items and events, is linked to Skype for answering scheduled calls, and also provides a list of recent files which can be launched via OneDrive.

In terms of integration, the toolbar also gives access to a user’s Office 365 settings providing the ability to manage many aspects of Microsoft Office 365 accounts directly from the macOS desktop.

The new My Workspace toolbar is available immediately and without charge, and will likely be invaluable to any Mac user who often works with Office 365 files on their Mac. Visit myworkspace.ms for more information or to download.
